The St. Peter’s Health Foundation recently presented a $25,000 check to Cancer Support Community Montana (CSCM) in support of Year 2 operating needs for its expanding Helena-based chapter. The funding underscores a shared commitment to ensuring cancer patients and their families have access to critical support services that complement clinical care.
The St. Peter’s Health Foundation Board approved support from of its “William and Pauline Allen Cancer Endowment.” This endowed fund supports programs that enhance cancer care and patient well-being in the Helena region.
“Cancer Support Community provides services that compliment and provide a holistic approach to the cancer care and treatment given at St. Peter’s Health, and their presence in Helena is an invaluable resource for our patients,” said Kari Koehler, Chief Nursing Officer of St. Peter’s Health. “We share information about Cancer Support Community with our patients, many of whom participate in virtual support groups and programs that help patients take control of their journey and reduce uncertainty during treatment.”
Cancer Support Community Montana offers free support groups, educational programming, and wellness options for individuals impacted by cancer. According to CSCM metrics, the number of Helena-area participants continues to grow, highlighting the importance of sustained operating support as the chapter expands its reach.
“The St. Peter’s Health Foundation is proud to invest in partnerships that extend care beyond hospital walls,” said Bob Heberly, Chair of the St. Peter’s Health Foundation Board. “This gift helps ensure that individuals facing cancer in our community have access to compassionate care, personal connections and trusted support throughout their journey.”
The $25,000 contribution will help Cancer Support Community Montana continue strengthening services, expanding outreach and meeting the growing needs of cancer patients and caregivers throughout the Helena area.
